Tell us about your background?
I was born and raised in Georgia and got my Bachelors Degree in Construction Management from Kennesaw State University in 2018. I started working in the construction industry in 2015 for a custom home builder and then made my way into ground-up high rise multi-family construction from 2017-2021.
Towards the end of 2021, I began working in commercial interiors doing mostly tenant improvement for high end offices, retail, and industrial spaces. Since joining FS 360, I have continued in retail and office improvements, while also venturing into healthcare, churches, higher education, and aviation.
How long have you been working with FS 360 and what motivated you to join the team?
I have been with FS 360 since October 2022! I chose FS 360 because of the flexibility they offer, as well as the broad spectrum of clients and projects I could gain experience working on.
What types of projects are you currently working on?
I'm currently kicking off two new projects with Zoo Atlanta, which is a repeat-client opportunity for me since I completed their Gift Shop Renovation in early 2023.
I am also working with Grady Health Systems and Hammes on an outpatient medical center renovation in Atlanta.
I am also getting geared up to begin some work with Emory University and some other exciting projects around the corner!
Can you share a memorable experience or achievement during your time here?
Working at Zoo Atlanta has been a fun and memorable experience! My son doesn't believe me when I tell him I saw flamingos at work that day (until I show him the pictures).
What lead you to working in the construction industry?
My dad was a General Contractor my entire life and my mom was an Interior Designer. Being around the industry for so many years while growing up is what peaked my interest and my dad is who encouraged me to take the leap and commit to it as a career.
What advice do you have for someone looking to start a career in construction?
If you have the opportunity, I think that taking on internships is one of the best ways to get your foot in the door at companies and get a taste for different types of construction before you commit to a full time position post-graduation. My internship/co-op experience during college is where I really fell in love with the industry and learned the foundational skills for who I wanted to be as a project manager.
