Tell us about your background?
I began my journey in the construction industry back in 1985, starting out as a laborer. Since then, I've progressed through various positions, including Equipment Operator, Leadman, Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent. Additionally, I am a certified welder and pipefitter.
Throughout my career, I have acquired multiple licenses, including plumbing, HVAC, and MEP, along with certifications in AMMP (fireproofing), OSHA 30, OSHA HAZMAT, and OSHA 510.
I pursued my studies at Dallas Community College, earning an associate degree in Construction Management. I furthered my education at the University of Texas at Arlington, where I obtained another associate degree, this time in Psychology.
How long have you been working with FS 360?
I have been with FS 360 going on 3 years.
What types of projects are you currently working on?
I am working on multiple Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport project to include Recapitalization of Terminals A, B, C, Recapitalization of Terminal D, as well as working with American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines on various task orders and maintenance.
Can you share a memorable experience or achievement during your time here?
The relationship we have with our aviation clients at DFW airport has been a great achievement, knowing they can trust us to handle matters day and night for any unexpected emergency/situation.
What lead you to working in the construction industry?
I chose construction for there will always been a need of a qualified construction personnel and I love what I do and the people I have met along the way!
What advice do you have for someone looking to start a career in construction?
I was just telling my son, Oscar Robert Ayala, who joined FS 360 in 2022, that to succeed in this industry one must always continue learning and be a team player. You are never alone on a job and lean on those around you to ensure the job is completed correctly and safely every time. this industry one must always continue learning and be a team player. I am lucky to have my son and team alongside me each day!
